Knowing

We believe that the best leaders know some essential aspects of human relationships, groups, and organisational culture. They know how to use their knowledge consistently. We believe when they know more about their own thinking, feeling and behaviour habits, they lead well. We believe experiential learning is the mechanism to develop this capacity. So, the knowledge we introduce is developed and built upon by leaders’ real-world context and experience. This is the foundation.

Doing

We believe leaders who Integrate this knowledge into their behaviour bring better outcomes for themselves, their teams and organisations. They are more confident, collaborative, communicating effectively. They are more resourceful, resilient and respectful.

Being

We believe being a leader is the capacity to be responsive rather than reactive. This is awareness, in the moment, responding to events and others as they are now in reality. This is different from reacting through old assumptions, fantasies, bias, habits, company traditions, etc. As Transactional Analysts we call this your Adult ego state. Our role is to help you strengthen your Adult as you become aware of and change your feeling & thinking patterns which influence what you do.

Functional Fluency TM

We believe flourishing and effectiveness at work is developing Functional Fluency. This way of thinking about human behaviour is influenced by Transactional Analysis but can happily sit independently from any psychological model because it is focused on behaviour. Functional Fluency is about changing the way people do things. It is about creating more effective interpersonal relationships to achieve what matters, in all realms of life.

Functional Fluency can be applied to people development by anyone, anywhere, whether you want to drive positive behavioural change or kickstart transformation in any organisation. It is not a psychometric tool. It is a profiling tool which provides a mental model for identifying behavioural habits, amplifying the helpful ones and changing the unhelpful.
